According to Jide Ojo, under Tinubu’s leadership, someone similar to Wike may become a minister.

On Friday, Jide Ojo, a renowned political analyst, gave an interview to Channels Television News where he discussed the G-5 governors’ contribution to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s electoral success. According to Jide, the governor of Rivers state and his G-5 team played a crucial role in ensuring Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election. Jide Ojo claims that Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo state, played a role in the APC’s victory in the presidential election in the state. In contrast to the governorship vote, which was held weeks later and favored the PDP, the state’s outcome differed.

Jide stress it out that the success of Tinubu was significantly impacted by the teamwork that occurred behind the scenes among the G-5. According to him, the G-5 governors, particularly Wike and Makinde, claimed to have the moral right to boast to Tinubu that they supported and voted for him in the last presidential election.

According to him: “What played out this evening was not unexpected because whether you like it or not, the G–5 governors played very critical roles in ensuring the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President-elect and the 16th President of Nigeria. Recall that for the very first time in the political history of Nigeria, PDP lost Rivers state in the 24-year history of this 4th republic.”

“PDP lost to APC in Rivers and also in Oyo state, of course, it is not the first time APC has won in Oyo, but when you look at what happened on February 25th vis-a-vis what happened on March 18, you will see that for the support Governor Seyi Makinde gave to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, perhaps, he would not have won in Oyo state.”
